The team behind Carys Books is led by Sam Knight, a former Western Mail feature writer and columnist. He was the first journalist to arrive at the Aberfan Disaster when working on the Merthyr Express. He has spent his whole career as a wordsmith, working as editor and PR director in advertising and marketing, and later as corporate affairs adviser in the oil industry in the Middle East.
In Monmouthshire he was involved in industrial regeneration in Blaenau Gwent, and in employee communications with Gwent Health Authority.
His writing has been published in Bulletin, the Red Bull magazine, and in Planet, the Welsh literary and political affairs journal. He has had two plays staged and his poetry broadcast on BBC Radio Wales and at public events.
His first novel was launched in London; his collection of short stories at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff.
